Managing Editor – Video

As Managing Editor – Video –  you will oversee all the video production teams in Stats Perform’s News department. This puts you at the forefront of content creation in a fast-paced, dynamic sports news environment during an action-packed year that will conclude with the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Armed with the world’s richest sports data, first rate newsgathering and an exciting rights portfolio, you will ensure your teams are constantly providing engaging video content for a range of digital, broadcast, and social clients across the globe. While covering the biggest stories across the sporting world, you will ensure our products are constantly evolving and adapting to the dynamic marketplace.

You will support and challenge the wider company to acquire new business and deliver a vision for the future of the video output beyond the World Cup in December.


You will be responsible for the provision of various English language services that are delivered to clients worldwide as well as language feeds in French, Italian, German, Spanish, Australian English, and Arabic. The role will include:

> Line managing Regional and Senior Editors across the various output services

> Delivering a clear vision and strategy for the future of the News department and its video offering

> Liaising with our various internal operations, technology, and support teams to ensure a smooth workflow of content and to continually innovate our products

> Supporting rights, commercial and sales teams grow our client portfolio and protect customer renewals

Decision-maker. Confident in making crucial conclusions on output, coverage and strategy with outstanding communication skills

Storyteller. Inspire your teams to tell the best stories with data, newsgathering and rights footage

Flexible. Leading teams in at least three different time zones and coordinating with a range of various internal functions often with tight deadlines

Presentation skills. Ability to present direct to clients and stakeholders within the business

Logistical and planning experience. Ability to plan for major events both in terms of production and on the ground

Broadcast journalism background. Strong editorial judgement, ability to make final call on important stories and coverage

Critical eye for engaging content for digital, social and broadcast consumers

Budget experience. Ability to manage budgets and hit financial targets


– Understanding of the current market demands and trends in sports media and beyond

– Experience with video editing software and platforms such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Wildmoka and Tellyo  

– Experience with content management systems and various video delivery methods  

– Familiar with software such as Salesforce, Showpad, Trello and the Microsoft suite

– You will oversee teams covering six or more regions so multiple language skills would be a major bonus

– Ability to shoot and cover events on the ground is a bonus
